With proper design, the dining room can become the centre of the home. After all, much of our day is devoted to eating, whether is it is enjoying a simple lunch alone or linger for hours over a five course meal with friends and family.  For this reason,  it makes sense to have a room designed specifically for meals. Compared to most other rooms in the house, the requirements for a dining room are relativity simple; all you really need is a dining table and chairs. Working with such a basic template, however, allows designers to exercise lots of creativity and to take risks in the dining room, making this one of the most enjoyable areas of the home to decorate.
