Nothing gives us more pleasure than to show projects that bring something extra to the table. We're talking about the little unique elements in a home that make it one of a kind. So today, we'd like to take you to see just a home!

We're sure there's no doubt you've seen some of the incredible architecture from Lisbon before. In fact, we've shown you the work of Alma Portuguesa more than once, and she does not disappoint. This interior design specialist knows how to incorporate historical and cultural components into all she creates, and this project is no exception.

So come with us and see for yourself why the work of Alma Portuguesa really is the soul of Portugal!

What lies outside

Before we even get into the gorgeous interior, let's have a sneak-peak at what lies just outside these doors. Lisbon is a stunning city full of hills and near the coast and it is very rich in architecture. From Romanesque to Gothic, from Baroque to Modern, any imaginable construction you could think of can be found in this city. This home is surrounded by some of the biggest tourist attractions in the capital, as well as the organic urban area.

The room with the view

This room undoubtedly carries the most soul out of the entire apartment. From this angle, we can see the small balcony that gave us that incredible view above. This open plan design is filled with bright and warm colours that invite and sooth all who enter, while also offering distinctive decorative pieces that intrigue us. Take the circular wall decals, for example. Fun and quirky, this little accent adds a splash of colour, and to counterbalance this modern feature and bring us back to a more vintage era, we have a sublime chandelier hanging right over the dining table.

Thin and functional kitchen

Now let's have a look at the narrow, yet practical kitchen design. As we saw the open plan earlier, we can see here that even the kitchen is a continuum that connects all the rooms of the home. Hard wood flooring matches the light-coloured cabinetry, giving this room a very contemporary vibe next to the new kitchen equipment. But it's that quaint vintage table that reminds us of the old-fashioned look and feel of the home.

Unique elements

The dining room table comfortably sits six people. On top of the table, we find a vase with dried flowers that incorporates the colours of the wall into an isolated centre piece. Everything here is complemented by the antique cupboard with glass doors and those interesting stone elements on the wall. These stone panels provide a historic vibe and appear to us like two windows into the past.

Sleep tight

One of the most interesting aspects of this project is undoubtedly the individuality that developed in each room. Although the predominance of light colours and the existence of vintage pieces has been cross, colours, furniture, and standards were adapted to the characteristics of the space, creating different atmospheres. And it's no different here in the bedroom. In fact, the headboard of the bed is a piece from an old house.
